Does It Hurt?

Different people give us different feedback and it all really depends on the individuals pain tolerance level. A lot of people put the pain on par with having the tattoo done originally and some say it's like snapping a rubber band on the skin.

Some people consider using pain relief prior to the treatment however we must point out that aspirin and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents, like ibuprofen, can produce bruising after laser treatment.

Does It Scar?

It is very uncommon for laser tattoo removal treatments to leave a scar so long as you follow our recommended after care procedures. More often than not, if you do notice any scaring, it was generally caused when the original tattoo was done but hasn't been seen due to it being covered by the tattoo itself.

How Does It Work?

Just as your body will try to force out a splinter, it will also recognize the tattoo ink as a foreign object and try to remove it. It does this by sending white blood cells to break down the ink particles however as the ink particles are much larger than the white blood cells it takes a long time, this is why a tattoo will naturally fade over a few decades.

With laser tattoo removal, the laser is used to break down the ink particles faster, allowing the ink to be absorbed by the body and removed in the same way it removes other waste.

Some colours can take longer to remove than others however you should see the tattoo disappear over a series of sessions.
